I exactly have the same feeling and so I am planning to go trip by myself. Never tried before.
Even you got a friend, one should get use to others. e.g. I get up early but your partner may not. One like shopping and one doesnt.
I prefer to go vacation with either sisters or parent (mother better). Father doesnt like shopping or the things most gals do.

When you are young, you should go to trip if you have time to do so ! If you are getting old, you cannot go so freely because of your health! So ! catch the chance ....
